Job summary

McAdams is a full-service land planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, transportation, and geomatics firm based in Durham, NC. We seek a Project Manager to oversee scope, schedule and budget while delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.

The role requires coordinating internal and external stakeholders, providing technical direction, and maintaining client satisfaction throughout project lifecycles. Strong AutoCAD and Carlson skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• AAS or BS degree preferred.
• License as a professional land surveyor (in case of construction staking).
• 8+ years of experience with at least two years as Assistant Project Manager.
• Strong communication across field and office staff, clients, and agencies.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Carlson software; Excel/Word/Outlook.
• Knowledge of municipal GIS and land records sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage scope, schedule and budget for projects.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders and ensure client satisfaction.
• Review contract scope and deliverables within the schedule.
• Monitor time charges and keep project within budget.
• Identify scope changes and negotiate adjustments in price or schedule.
• Provide status updates to stakeholders and ensure quality control.
• Coordinate submittals with local municipalities.
• Provide technical guidance to staff and resolve problems.
• Maintain safety and professional conduct on site and in office.
