Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead multiple complex, high-priority projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. This role requires autonomy and the ability to influence executives.

Work arrangement is hybrid; team members onsite at the Administration Building at least two days per week, typically Tuesday and Wednesday, with opportunities to mentor project participants and drive strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Experience in project management, program management, or related fields.
  • PM certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, timelines, and resources needed to meet business goals, including quality controls and reporting.
  • Establish deliverables and timeframes; hold teams accountable for completion.
  • Create clear project charter, roles, responsibilities and accountabilities.
  • Negotiate resources; identify required skills and time commitments.
  • Present the business case and resources required; outline approach and milestones.
  • Secure an executive sponsor for key initiatives.
  • Manage project lifecycle, address risks, provide feedback and training.
  • Implement dashboards and reporting tools; monitor progress and costs.
  • Establish reporting methods for stakeholders and milestones.
  • Remove hurdles to project completion and ensure successful outcomes.

Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the success of multiple complex, high-priority projects. This includes completing projects on schedule, on budget, and within scope. Projects must meet Baylor Scott & White's quality and standards. This position requires a high degree of autonomy and the ability to handle large, critical projects for organizational leadership with confidence. The Senior Project Manager has the skills to engage senior executives effectively and mentor/aid in the professional development of project participants.

Work arrangement: Hybrid. Team members are expected to work onsite a minimum of two days per week (typically Tuesday and Wednesday) at the Administration Building.

Essential Functions Of The Role
  • Define project scope, timelines, and resources needed to meet the business goal on time. Include quality control measures, reporting systems, and a communication plan in the project documentation.
  • Establishes project deliverables and timeframes. Holds the project team accountable for completion. Considers both short-term and long-term goals.
  • Establishes clear project charter, team roles, responsibilities and accountabilities to ensure success of project.
  • Reaches agreement on project parameters and mechanics. Receives approvals at each phase of the project.
  • Negotiates with management for resources needed to complete projects. Identifies project activities, required skills, and time commitment for team members.
  • Presents the business case for the project, including the number and types of resources required. Explains the approach to the project and the strategy for completion.
  • Secures an executive sponsor.
  • Manages the lifecycle of the project, resolving problems, providing feedback to project team members, securing training, tools required.
  • Initiates project, assesses risks, establishes project costs, and monitors quality for results.
  • Establishes reporting requirements and communication methods for updating all interested parties on project progress, cost, and successes.
  • Removes hurdles to project completion.
  • Establishes appropriate reporting needed to support project milestones and stakeholder requirements.
  • Implements dashboards, reporting tools and updates as required.
  • Establishes risk profiles, quantifies risk data and develops responses.
  • Recommends contingencies as needed with assistance from senior management.
  • Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
Key Success Factors
  • Experience in project management, program management, management consulting, business administration, business management, or chief of staff functions.
  • Possesses mental agility to successfully deliver a variety of different and complex project types.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, techniques, monitoring systems and software needed to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects requiring interdepartmental cooperation.
  • Solution oriented and demonstrates flexibility in problem solving, using collaborative techniques to identify project problems and implement solutions.
  • Ability to influence others to a particular point of view using business reason, data and experience.
  • Must be able to develop and present a professional product to multiple levels of management.
  • Ability to communicate assignments and due dates in a clear, professional and concise manner.
  • Project Management Certification a plus.
