Job summary

Blue Ridge Executive Search is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a background in multifamily construction and large projects. The role emphasizes leadership, cost control, and client relationship management in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will mentor junior PMs, coordinate with operations, and ensure projects meet budget and schedule milestones while complying with permitting and regulatory requirements. Strong English communication and local experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of project management experience.
• Experience in ground up construction required.
• Competent in use of computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook as well as scheduling software.
• Local experience preferred.
• Good written and verbal English skills.
• Language skills (Spanish, etc.) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and work with operations to ensure the project is built properly and within budget.
• Provide leadership to more junior project managers and help them learn the skills necessary to become project managers while overseeing their projects at a higher level.
• Work directly with the owner or customer and maintain a good professional relationship rapport to achieve high customer satisfaction.
• Plan out work to be completed during each phase of a project, and then work with operations to maintain schedule to hit all benchmarks and scheduled cut off days.
• Maintain a cooperative environment with clearly defined roles, ensuring engagement and motivation to hit deadlines.
• Determine resources necessary to complete each phase of the project.
• Update management on project status, including junior PMs’ projects.
• Use data to analyze project state, monitor costs and financial health.
• Identify risk factors and mitigate their impact on the project.
• Ensure proper permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize the project.
• Identify areas of improvement to enhance reputation with employees, customers, industry and communities.
