MPI in Columbus seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead ground-up commercial construction projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors. The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, risk management, and regulatory knowledge.

You will mentor junior staff, manage client communications, and drive standard-setting quality across projects. Travel to sites is expected as needed; PMP is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction processes, codes, and vertical build regulations.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent budgeting and cost control skills.
• Proficient with project management software such as Procore or Primavera P6.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites as required.
• PMP or similar credentials preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all phases of ground-up commercial construction projects from inception through completion.
• Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality, and safety.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and building codes.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
• Mentor junior project managers and construction staff.
• Coordinate communication among teams, clients, and stakeholders.
• Monitor and enforce quality control and documentation.
• Coordinate transition from construction to occupancy.
• Lead project closeout activities with client walkthroughs.
