Job summary

Dürr Systems, LLC in Michigan seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead domestic and international automotive projects from launch through installation, commissioning, and closeout. You will manage scope, budget, schedule, risks, and profitability while serving as the primary customer liaison.

Candidates should have 5–7 years in automotive manufacturing or industrial automation, a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, and proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
• 5–7 years of project management experience within automotive manufacturing, industrial automation, material handling, or a related environment.
• Experience with General Assembly, final assembly, conveyance, End-of-Line systems, Fluid Fill systems, or comparable automotive manufacturing equipment.
• Direct Fluid Fill or End-of-Line experience is a plus but not required; strong General Assembly or conveyance experience will be considered.
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineering concepts associated with automated manufacturing equipment.
• Experience managing industrial equipment projects involving engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, startup, and commissioning.
• Familiarity with machinery design, pneumatics, hydraulics, tooling, automation, and related manufacturing processes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, contracts, and customer requirements.
• Strong understanding of project financials, including budgets, forecasting, cost management, and profitability.
• Strong customer-facing communication, leadership, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; experience with ERP/MRP systems and SAP is preferred.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20–30%, including internationally.

• Lead internal and customer project meetings, communicate project status and priorities, and drive timely resolution of action items.
• Identify technical, operational, commercial, and financial risks and opportunities and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Manage project changes, ensuring technical requirements, schedule impacts, costs, and customer expectations are clearly documented and addressed.
• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining alignment with customer specifications, contractual requirements, and Dürr project standards.
