Summary

The Project Manager directs and coordinates engineering projects within their area of responsibility, working collaboratively with the Principal and clients to resolve issues and ensure project success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and perform site investigations
  • Evaluate surface and subsurface conditions and provide recommendations
  • Plan and implement engineering programs, defining project philosophy, activities, milestones, and staffing requirements
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
  • Provide status reports and adjust schedules as needed
  • Control expenditures within the project budget
  • Identify staffing needs and coordinate with support managers
  • Prepare and deliver project deliverables, design documents, bid packages, and proposals
  • Oversee project personnel across various project phases
  • Review designs for compliance with standards and client requirements
  • Interface with clients to report project status and meet their needs
  • Provide progress reports to stakeholders
  • Plan research schedules and establish routines to meet project timelines
  • Provide expertise in research, train research assistants and students
  • Perform interim data analysis for safety monitoring
  • Develop research plans and experiments, and train personnel accordingly
  • Establish design parameters with the project team and client
  • Maintain and develop client relationships and secure new business
  • Prepare proposal estimates for time and expenses
  • Travel approximately 10%, potentially out of state
Supervisory Responsibilities

This role includes supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field, with 10-12 years of experience and 8 years in project management
  • Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP)
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification
  • FE/EIT Certification
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Strong mathematical, geometric, and trigonometric skills
  • Proficiency with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)
Physical Demands

Employees must frequently stand, walk, sit, and handle objects, with the ability to lift/move under 50 pounds. Vision and sensory abilities include close and distance vision and focus adjustment. Work environment is mostly office-based, with 10% outdoor work in various weather conditions, requiring appropriate clothing and safety gear.
