Job summary

ArchKey in San Jose, CA seeks a Senior Project Manager for electrical construction to lead large-scale projects ($20M+) and provide technical direction across electrical sectors. You will manage profitability, coordinate with GCs, subs and union officials, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires strong leadership, NEC knowledge, and the ability to relocate temporarily to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or IBEW Apprentice Training Certificate or equivalent in job experience.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and team leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code
  • Strong attention to detail and ensure maximum quality of work throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Temporary relocation to jobsite as required.
  • Experience with Accubid a plus.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee total construction and design effort to ensure project aligns with design, NEC, budget and schedule.
  • Coordinate communication between internal and external project members (GCs, subs, superintendents, foremen, union officials).
  • Approve project staff transactions including superintendent and foreman selections.
  • Provide directions to planning, scheduling and engineering functions.
  • Participate in estimating and bid proposals.
  • Review purchase requisitions, payments and change orders.
  • Assist in safety program implementation and OSHA compliance.
  • Maintain project documentation and logs.
  • Support customer maintenance and sales/marketing efforts.
  • Understand labor agreements and standards relevant to projects.

About the Position

As a Senior Project Manager, you will provide overall administrative and technical direction for large electrical projects ($20M+) in one of our various sectors including: Alternative Energy, Automation, Civil, Power and Line, Technology, Healthcare and Entertainment. You will provide technical and engineering support as required by the projects needed. Our Senior Project Managers play a key role in having overall bottom- line responsibility for profit and loss and consequently carry the authority appropriately.

Day in the Life

  • Oversee total construction and design effort (if applicable) to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, National Electric Code, budget, and schedule
  • Act as a liaison to coordinate communication between both internal and external members on the project including, but not limited to: General Contractors, Subcontractors, Superintendents, General Foremen and union officials
  • Authorize and/or approve all project staff transactions including choice of superintendent, general foremen, foremen, staff volume and wages
  • Provide directions to planning, scheduling and engineering functions
  • Participate in estimating projects and writing bid proposals
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions, payment approvals, sending invoices, and changing order requests
  • Assists in the implementation/interpretation of safety programs and ensures that all OSHA requirements are met
  • Ensure that all company client and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to and interpret the policies
  • Ensure the maintenance of all official project documentation and logs
  • Provide directions to planning, scheduling and engineering functions
  • Responsible for customer maintenance and other sales and marketing
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of labor agreements and standards specific to projects

Minimum Qualifications
