Job summary

Colliers Project Leaders is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead data center construction across multiple U.S. sites including Atlanta, GA.

You will plan, coordinate, and direct all activities related to delivery, acting as liaison with design managers, clients, consultants, and vendors. The role requires 6+ years in project management and 3+ years in data center construction, with strong budgeting, scheduling, and MEP knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of project management experience.
  • 3+ years of data center construction experience.
  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and cost controls.
  • Strong knowledge of base building and MEP systems for data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee large scale construction projects including site development, ground up construction, data center buildouts and tenant fit-outs.
  • Knowledgeable in base building and tenant MEP systems and managing the design and implementation of these systems.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with general contractors, key subcontractors, equipment vendors and other consultants.
  • Review budgeting and scheduling deliverables for content and quality, and ensure adherence to budget and schedule goals.
  • Lead budget and schedule review meetings with construction team personnel.
  • Coordinate with clientele, design staff, and senior leadership on objectives, requirements, and budgets.
  • Create and maintain budgets and schedules for multiple sites in various design/construction stages.
  • Provide oversight with ongoing projects and escalate issues as needed.
  • Conduct or delegate job-site observations to ensure budget and schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate reviews with consultants and government agencies for permitting and approvals.

Overview

Colliers Project Leaders is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Owner's Rep team in Ashburn, VA; Portland, OR; Atlanta, GA; and Miami, FL.

The Construction Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all activities related to the delivery of the assigned datacenter construction project. You'll act as a liaison both internally and externally for construction services by interacting with Design Managers, personnel, clientele, consultants, contractors, and equipment vendors.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee large scale construction projects that range from site development, ground up construction, data center buildouts and customer fit-outs.
  • Knowledgeable in base building and tenant MEP systems and managing the design and implementation of these systems.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationship with our general contractors, key subcontractors, equipment vendors and other consultants.
  • Review all budgeting and scheduling deliverables for content and quality, drawing quality and adherence to internal budget and schedule goals. Act as a subject matter expert in construction matters with the business in evaluating potential customer leases and ongoing construction projects.
  • Participate and lead budget and schedule meeting reviews with construction team personnel.
  • Discuss discipline and project objectives, requirements and budgets with clientele, design staff, and senior leadership.
  • Create and maintain project budgets and schedules for multiple sites in various stages of design/construction. Evaluate impacts of specific customer requirements.
  • Provide oversight and assistance with ongoing construction projects. Escalate as needed for any project issues that arise.
  • Personally, conduct or delegate job-site observations to ensure projects are adhering to budget and schedule targets.
  • Participate in reviews with consultants and government agencies to properly coordinate the entitlements necessary for permitting/construction approvals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of project management experience.
  • 3+ years of data center construction experience.
  • General Contracting, Construction Management, Equipment Vendor or Architecture Experience preferred.
  • Extensive familiarity and working knowledge of construction scheduling, project budgeting and cost controls.
  • Working technical knowledge of MEP systems and how data centers operate.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
