Job summary

The Sustainable Partnership in Texas is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Commercial Operations Readiness. You will own the plan taking projects from construction through COD and commercial readiness, ensuring offtake contracts and grid market registration are on time.

You will coordinate construction, engineering, operations, commercial, trading and asset management teams, maintain one schedule, and step in when cross-team issues threaten the timeline.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in utility-scale solar, wind or storage projects at a developer, IPP or EPC contractor.
• Experience with grid operator asset registration in US markets (ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, MISO, SPP or similar).
• Comfortable working through PPAs and hedge agreements and turning their requirements into actions.
• Track record of managing projects through commissioning, energization and COD.
• Strong scheduling and organization skills, able to run several projects at once.
• PMP or similar certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Senior Project Manager, Commercial Operations Readiness

Location: Texas, Hybrid

The Client:

The Sustainable Partnership is partnering with a large owner and operator of utility-scale solar, wind and battery storage projects across the US.

This is a project management role focused on handing newly built projects over into operation. You will own the plan that takes each project from construction through to COD and commercially ready, making sure offtake contract obligations and grid market registration are in place on time. You’ll bring together construction, engineering, operations, commercial, trading and asset management teams, keep everyone working to one schedule, and step in when issues between teams threaten the timeline. You’ll also make sure the operations team gets everything it needs from construction at handover, from as-built documentation to warranties and O&M manuals.

Candidate profile:

• 8+ years’ experience, with a good part of that on utility-scale solar, wind or storage projects at a developer, IPP or EPC contractor
• Has taken projects through grid operator asset registration in at least one US market (ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, MISO, SPP or similar)
• Comfortable working through PPAs and hedge agreements and turning their requirements into actions on the ground
• Track record of managing projects through commissioning, energization and COD
• Used to getting results across teams you don’t directly manage
• Strong scheduling and organization skills, able to run several projects at once
• Degree in engineering, business or finance; PMP or similar a plus
