Description
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the construction of multiple commercial and industrial projects throughout the Minneapolis area. They will work on the project from start to finish, managing project managers, superintendents, and working closely with the developers. Our client is a $200M per year contractor with 100 employees, founded in 1993, operating in all 50 states, focusing mainly on healthcare, multifamily, commercial and industrial projects. They offer general contracting, design‑build, and consulting services and love to grow people within the organization, providing Senior PMs a great opportunity for advancement to VP positions.
- Responsible for managerial and administrative aspects of a project including estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
- Ensure an accurate and complete project estimate
- Work closely with owners and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings
- Participate in the proposal meeting with the owner to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas
- Oversee the buyout process and the selection of subcontractors
- Conduct bi‑weekly job site meetings on site
- Make sound decisions under tight deadlines
- Organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
- Commit to quality by evaluating project‑related processes
- Make necessary changes, use customer input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external client expectations
- Act with integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and other associates while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations
Profile (Qualifications)
- 10–15 years of previous experience working with a General Contractor
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field
- Experience in design‑build is a must
- Experience working with software and technology
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Time‑management skills
- Up-to-date on the construction market and the newest technology
