Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Program Manager in Arlington, VA to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex science-focused projects. The role emphasizes budget control, stakeholder collaboration, and QA/QC delivery across the project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates will have a Architecture background, be a Registered Architect, and bring extensive PM experience, including team leadership and mentoring within an employee-owned culture. US citizenship may be required by contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture
• 10 years related experience
• Minimum 5 years project management experience
• Registered Architect
• Ability to lead a team on projects
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
• Knowledge of local and regional market
• Good planning and mentoring skills
• Commitment to employee-owned culture

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle
• Lead multidisciplinary science projects with technical complexity
• Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
• Establish and maintain client relations and participate in meetings
• Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders
• Coordinate staffing and workload through project life cycle and ensure on-schedule deliverables
• Track financials and adjust work to meet budget and schedule
• Monitor financial performance against metrics and adjust to meet earnings targets
• Work with Accounting and Business leadership for project reviews
• Implement QA/QC procedures
• Supervise large project staffs and mentor junior project managers
• Perform other duties as needed
