Job Summary

Location: Detroit, MI

This role involves managing technical aspects of project development from inception to construction, with ongoing support through startup and closeout. Experience in the biogas industry, especially dairy and landfill gas processing, anaerobic digesters, and landfill collection systems, is essential. Power industry experience, including engines, turbines, and electrical interconnects, is a plus. The work requires independent judgment and initiative, primarily remote, with some site visits.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Screen projects for technical viability
  2. Incorporate safety and environmental considerations into design
  3. Develop and review EPC specifications and drawings
  4. Prepare RFP packages and manage bidding processes
  5. Develop cost estimates and forecasts
  6. Manage project documentation
  7. Coordinate performance testing and evaluate results
  8. Collaborate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and agencies
  9. Support project activities and management
  10. Perform technical due diligence for acquisitions
  11. Travel within the U.S. about 10-30%, possibly more during startup
  12. Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) with 8+ years of relevant experience as a project engineer, manager, or construction manager.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE and/or PMP licensure
  • Conceptual facility design skills balancing safety, operation, and costs
  • Knowledge of gas modeling for dairy and landfill RNG projects

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
