The ideal candidate has 15+ years of project management experience within utility, engineering, electrical infrastructure, or construction environments, with a proven track record of leading high-value capital projects and portfolios.

Qualifications

Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale utility infrastructure programs for a top client, overseeing transmission, distribution, generation, and substation projects from planning through execution. This role provides strategic leadership across complex engineering and construction initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with organizational objectives. The Senior Project Manager will manage project performance, financial forecasting, risk mitigation, stakeholder engagement, and executive-level reporting while driving successful outcomes across major capital programs.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of project management experience within utility, engineering, electrical infrastructure, or construction environments, with a proven track record of leading high-value capital projects and portfolios. Expectations include independently managing complex budgets and schedules, building strong relationships with executive stakeholders, proactively identifying and mitigating project risks, and mentoring project teams to achieve operational excellence. Experience overseeing transmission, distribution, generation, or substation projects is strongly preferred, while PMP certification, utility leadership experience, portfolio governance expertise, and a background in electrical engineering, utility operations, or construction management are considered valuable assets.

This is a one-year contract, with firm end-dates in place for the project, so unlikely to extend.
