Senior Project Manager is the operational heartbeat of a cross-functional product team. You orchestrate the delivery of complex projects spanning software features, digital content, service design, and physical materials. You own the critical path, anticipate risks before they become blockers, and ensure writers, designers, and partners work in sync to hit launch and readiness milestones with excellence.
Orchestrate complex delivery — lead end-to-end execution of large-scale initiatives (e.g., full grade-band curriculum refresh, major platform feature launch, ready-to-launch for a group of products), managing dependencies between curriculum writing, software engineering, physical production, and service readiness across teams.
Master the critical path — map and manage the high-stakes timeline, identify long-lead items (e.g., print manufacturing or complex software integrations), and ensure the team focuses on high-leverage work to protect the launch date.
Drive risk mitigation and problem-solving — proactively identify project risks and implement mitigations to restore project health; know when to escalate and ask for help.
Facilitate high-impact rituals — design and lead planning and execution meetings with clear objectives and documented ownership and follow-through.
Own physical, digital, and service readiness — collaborate with Supply Chain to manage the BOM, tracking and QA of physical kit components and digital assets for commercial launch.
Optimize team throughput — analyze velocity and capacity; identify friction points and implement process improvements.
Strategic resource planning — look 2-3 quarters ahead to anticipate staffing, capacity constraints, and production peaks to prevent burnout and delivery disruption.
Manage vendors and partners — set up agreements, negotiate statements of work, hold vendors accountable, and evaluate performance for renewals or changes.
Communicate with precision — provide stakeholders with data-backed updates on progress, scope trade-offs, and resource needs.
You anticipate and adapt — foresee delays months ahead and adjust the plan accordingly.
You lead with influence — use logic and relationships to rally a team around tight deadlines without direct authority; negotiate priorities between departments without escalation.
You use data to drive improvements — apply metrics to prove process improvements and inform further adjustments.
You are outcomes-oriented — ensure deliverables meet quality standards and the definition of done.
You are the calm in the storm — thrive in high-pressure environments, providing structure and clarity during crunch time.
You are a systems thinker — automate administrative tasks, identify cross-project patterns, and improve process flows to maximize high-value work.
5-8+ years of experience managing complex projects in EdTech, software, or creative publishing.
Hybrid Methodology Fluency: Agile/Scrum for software with Waterfall/Stage-Gate for print and physical production.
Mastery of a blended product — shipping products that live in both web and physical spaces.
Advanced tooling skills — Jira and Smartsheet (or Monday.com/Airtable); ability to build dashboards and trackers.
Strong communication — explain software delays to editors and design constraints to engineers.
