Job summary

Allied Universal Technology Services in Secaucus, NJ, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to plan, direct, and control complex electronic security installation projects. You’ll manage scheduling, field installation, commissioning, and budget performance while coordinating vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to meet deadlines and profitability.

This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; PMP is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Factory certifications in relevant technology platforms (Software House, Lenel, Brivo, Open Options, Exacq, American Dynamics, Milestone, OnSSI, etc.) are a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years in the electronic security industry or 2 years in related low-voltage field.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain active communication with vendors and customers, balancing time versus profits.
  • Allocate and maximize resources to meet sales and project objectives.
  • Develop industry knowledge across markets and practices.
  • Submit Change Orders and adjust estimates, prices, and installation plans.
  • Support invoicing and collections by ensuring timely and accurate invoices in ERP and follow-up with customers.
  • Manage project budget and project P&L responsibilities.
  • Prepare installation plans, oversee scheduling and procedures.
  • Coordinate construction schedules with other trades and maintain records of status and changes.
  • Define project problems using financial and management tools to assure profitability.
  • Plan engineering, installation, and subcontracting activities for large/complex systems.
  • Supervise installation labor and subcontractors; prioritize workload for quality on time delivery.
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate as needed; develop contingency plans.

Job Description

Allied Universal Technology Services is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager.The Senior Project Manager plans, organizes, directs, and controls project-planning and performance activities for effective management of electronic security installation projects to include, but not limited to, all aspects of systems scheduling, field installation, commissioning, and financial success. This role is responsible for overall project budget management, project surveys, material procurement, project implementation, and inspection scheduling. The Senior Project Manager must be capable of executing the project on time and within budget through effective communication, preparation, and management of multiple projects varying in size and complexity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain an active and thoughtful communication pattern with vendors and internal and external customers while balancing time versus profits to make sure efforts reflect and anticipate return (revenue, growth, and customer retention)
  • Consistently and effectively determine, allocate, and maximize available resources through project planning to ensure the achievement of sales and project management objectives
  • Establish and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the industry and competitive practices as they relate to multiple markets.
  • Implement changes in project, contract price, and installation plans to include the estimation, development, and submission of Change Orders
  • Support company's invoicing and collection efforts by not only ensuring all contractual terms and conditions are met initially, but by ensuring all invoicing is completed accurately and on time by aggressively monitoring the reports in ERP System and following up with customers management and customers on a consistent basis
  • Manage Project budget and project P&L responsibility
  • Prepare the project installation plan, manages the plans, and prepares and implements job procedures
  • Maintain construction schedules and coordinate task-scheduling with other trades
  • Maintain all records of job status, job changes and material flow
  • Define project problems by working with financial, contract management and management tools to assure project profitability
  • Plan and schedules engineering, installation, and subcontracting activities on large and/or complex systems
  • Supervise installation labor and sub-contractors
  • Prioritize team workload to ensure quality results are delivered on time and within budget
  • Troubleshoot project issues and engage appropriate management and resources as needed
  • Develop fallback and contingency plans

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Factory certifications in relevant technology platforms is a plus (Software House, Lenel, Brivo, Open Options, Exacq, American Dynamics, Milestone, OnSSI, etc.).
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the electronic security industry
    • A minimum of two (2) years of related low-voltage field
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint)
  • Ability to work independently and perform tasks of moderate to high complexity, which requires knowledge of technical and business environments
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Solid knowledge of PM techniques and tools, general knowledge of contract laws and regulations
  • Associate’s Degree in Business, Technology, or related field
  • PMP from the Project Management Institute
  • Six (6) years of project management experience, electronic security industry experience
  • Five (5) years of experience in the electronic security industry
  • Experience in the security industry

BENEFITS:

  • Salary range: $125,000 - $145,000 annual + 20% annual bonus potential + company vehicle and gas card

  • Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days
  • Vacation time is offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
