Job description

Our client is a leading project management and advisory consultancy delivering complex commercial real estate and construction projects across a variety of sectors. Following a recent merger with a globally recognized engineering and consulting firm, the organization is entering an exciting period of growth, with plans to significantly expand its San Francisco team over the coming years.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of its growth, helping shape the future of the office while building your own career and leadership profile.

The Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead projects from inception through completion, serving as a trusted advisor to clients while managing consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders. You\'ll oversee multiple projects, ensuring successful delivery across schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.

While experience delivering technical, life sciences, laboratory, or other highly serviced facilities is highly desirable, candidates should also be comfortable managing commercial interiors projects as the firm\'s technical portfolio continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects through all phases of delivery, from planning and procurement through construction and closeout.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, developing strong, long-term relationships.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and reporting.
  • Lead RFP development, contractor procurement, bid evaluations, and award processes across multiple trades and disciplines.
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders.
  • Identify project risks and develop practical solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Champion client interests while maintaining collaborative relationships throughout the commercial construction process.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the continued growth of the San Francisco office.
Qualifications
Required
  • 5-9+ years of project management experience within commercial construction, real estate, or consulting.
  • Experience managing projects on behalf of an owner, project management consultancy, architecture firm, engineering firm, or general contractor.
  • Demonstrated experience managing procurement, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Experience leading RFP processes and contractor selection.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and client management skills.
Preferred
  • Approximately 7+ years of experience preferred (strong candidates with 5+ years are encouraged to apply).
  • Background in Architecture, MEP Engineering, or Project Management consulting.
  • Professional licensure (Architect, Professional Engineer, PMP, or similar) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project for scheduling and project planning.
  • Experience delivering life sciences, laboratory, healthcare, mission-critical, or other technically complex facilities.
  • Experience working for a General Contractor is welcomed, although candidates should be comfortable transitioning into a project management consulting environment.
What We're Looking For

We\'re looking for someone who is:

  • An intellectually curious problem solver who focuses on finding solutions rather than obstacles.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional work and exceeding client expectations.
  • A strong client advocate who understands the commercial construction ecosystem and can successfully balance competing priorities.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and motivated by helping build a growing team and business.
  • Excited by the opportunity to establish themselves within a rapidly expanding organization with significant long-term career growth.
Why Apply?

Joining this team now offers the opportunity to become an integral part of a growing San Francisco office with substantial career progression potential. As the business continues to expand, you\'ll have the chance to help shape team culture, mentor future hires, and build your own leadership platform while delivering high-profile projects across commercial and technical sectors.
