Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager in San Diego to lead large multi-disciplinary projects from initiation to close-out.

You will direct project teams, manage budgets, and coordinate with clients to ensure on-time, high-quality deliverables within HDR's employee-owned culture. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, 10+ years related experience, PMP and licensure as a Registered Architect, and strong mentoring and planning skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture required.
  • 10+ years related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience.
  • Registered Architect with licensure.
  • Ability to lead a team on complex projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Knowledge of local and regional market.
  • Strong planning and mentoring skills.
  • Active participant in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams through project lifecycle.
  • Manage large multidisciplinary projects or mid-size projects with high technical complexity.
  • Produce and coordinate multiple projects concurrently.
  • Establish and maintain client relations and participate in meetings across marketing, contractual, design and production.
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate staffing and workloads to ensure on-time deliverables and budget adherence.
  • Track financial aspects and adjust work effort to meet budget/schedule constraints.
  • Oversee QA/QC procedures and mentor less-experienced PMs.

In the role of Senior Project Manager, we'll count on you to:
  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out)
  • Responsible for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. San Diego: $111,000 - $159,000; Los Angeles $120,000 - $172,000
