This role makes sure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with contracts and client expectations.

About 70% of this role is team leadership and portfolio management. The other 30% is hands-on project management, based on company needs.

The Sr PM supports our mission of creating amazing experiences for our customers and our team. They do this by building individual skills and a shared sense of ownership, accountability, and growth.

Team Leadership:
  • Serve as the direct day-to-day manager for Project Managers and Project Coordinators, providing coaching, mentorship, project direction, and workload balancing.
  • Approve team time-off requests and project expenses.
  • Support team members in navigating project challenges and lead the escalation process for major project issues.
  • Work with the Operations Manager on HR or disciplinary matters outside day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and the Operations Manager to identify and implement improvements that increase efficiency, project delivery, and elevate client satisfaction.
  • Champion knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team, including mentorship on AV technologies, industry best practices, and project delivery standards.
  • Foster a culture aligned with our mission to create amazing experiences for both our team and customers, building individual capability, modeling our core values, and reinforcing a shared sense of ownership and accountability.
Portfolio Management:
  • Review scopes of work and contracts for upcoming projects to find gaps early in design, estimating, operational capacity, and client expectations.
  • Oversee and manage project timelines and schedules across the PM team's portfolio.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Coordinators on resource demands, labor needs, and schedule shifts across upcoming projects.
  • Oversee work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, over/under billings, and gross profit across the team's project assignments to support accurate revenue and cash flow forecasting.
  • Find gaps in operational processes and improve project delivery standards, documentation templates, and team tools.
  • Collaborate within the Operations team to develop business workflows and processes, build team understanding of them, and manage their consistent use across projects.
  • Work with department leaders and Operations Management to increase efficiency and promote client satisfaction.
Project Management:
  • Manage assigned projects from start to closeout, owning client expectations, execution, and financial tracking.
  • Work with design and engineering teams to check that system specifications are feasible, maintainable, and focused on the client.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, general contractors, and clients to align project requirements and technical specifications.
  • Manage procurement timelines and trigger purchases of materials, equipment, and subcontractors based on the project schedule.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, labor allocations, and material and equipment costs.
  • Build and maintain detailed project schedules and resource plans.
  • Approve and release purchases, invoices, and change orders in line with project budgets and contract terms.
  • Trigger project invoices based on contract milestones and progress and over/under billings
  • Anticipate and resolve project risks such as schedule delays, scope changes, technical issues, resource constraints, supply chain disruptions, and labor shortages. Build contingency plans that limit the impact on timelines and budgets.
  • Oversee commissioning and testing to confirm systems meet contract specifications and client expectations.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in project management, team leadership, jobsite management, or a combination of these. Experience in AV, lighting, or live production integration is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
