Job summary

PCI is seeking an experienced Glass and Glazing - Senior Project Manager for its PCI Kansas City 567 operations based in Lenexa, KS. This role will drive safety, quality, and profitability on large glazing projects, coordinating with field teams and vendors.

You will prepare submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs; manage takeoffs, schedules, and change orders; and ensure project profitability through cost control and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Construction Science or related discipline, or comparable work experience.
• Experience estimating, project management, and managing glass and glazing scopes.
• Ability to read specs and drawings and spot profitability risks.
• MS Office including Excel and Word proficiency.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to multitask, think critically, and solve problems.
• Willingness to learn new job skills and technical aspects.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in safety plans and measures for the branch and projects.
• Create and manage punch lists proactively.
• Ensure QA/QC compliance with project programs.
• Prepare RFIs, submittals and shop drawings.
• Understand building systems and their relation to the process.
• Coordinate activities to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Perform takeoffs to verify estimates and manage material orders and change orders.
• Develop job schedules; coordinate with field supervisors and foremen; communicate issues.
• Oversee labor control and cost adjustments to maximize profits.
• Coordinate warranties and O&M responsibilities.
• Assist in vendor selection and material/equipment coordination.
• Assist in subcontractor buyout, contracts, sequencing and change orders.
• Monitor job costs via monthly FAWs; support branch customer relations.

PCI is seeking an experienced Glass and Glazing - Senior Project Manager for its PCI Kansas City 567 operations based in Lenexa, KS. This individual will play a vital role in managing glass and glazing projects and be responsible for the following duties:

• Actively participate in the safety plans and measures of the branch and all assigned projects.
• Understand and follow all PCI guidelines related to corporate safety program.
• Create/manage punch lists proactively.
• Understand and be accountable for the Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program for assigned projects.
• Prepare RFI’s, submittals and shop drawings.
• A clear understanding of our building systems and how they relate to the building process.
• Understand how to navigate and coordinate activities to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• See to quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials and price change orders.
• Create and implement job schedules, coordinate with field supervisors and foremen and effectively communicate issues to negotiate the optimal position for our trade in the work sequence.
• Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance; use this tool to make adjustments as necessary to maximize profits.
• Coordinate warranties and O&M’s.
• Assist in selecting the vendors and coordinate materials and equipment.
• Assist in the buyout of subcontractors, issue contracts and proactively sequence and manage the subcontractor’s work including billings and change orders.
• Complete and be accountable for the job cost control measures through monthly Financial Analysis Worksheets (FAW’s) on assigned projects.
• Support the branch through positive customer relations and active participation in the Customer Alignment Plan.

This position is safety sensitive.

Salary range: $118,700 - $159,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.

Basic Requirements

• At least 8 years of Construction Management work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Construction Science or related discipline, or comparable work experience.
• Experience with estimating/project management/managing glass and glazing scopes of construction.
• Ability to diagnose and process key information, recognize critical areas on the job that could impact profitability, and then actively navigate the project away from risks and liabilities for a successful outcome.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is required.
• A clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings is required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills is required.
• Ability to work in a team environment is required.
• Strong customer service skills are required.
• Ability to multitask, critical think, and problem-solve is required.
• Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught is required.

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Construction Science
• Experience managing projects of $1M or more.
• Working knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, and Procore.
