Job summary

Wohlsen Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to secure and manage project cost, schedule and performance in line with company policy and goals. • B.S. degree in Construction technology, Engineering or related discipline with 7–12 years relevant experience.
• Experience in construction project management with contract values of $15–50 million and up.
• Experience in multiple disciplines including project management, estimating, preconstruction services, and construction management.
• OSHA 10 Hour Certification; OSHA 30, First Aid and CPR preferred.
• Willingness to travel and work additional hours to meet business plan goals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the project plan, sequence and schedule with collaboration of field personnel.
• Prepare and issue project documents including progress reports, project schedule updates, and financial/budget updates.
• Initiate periodic meetings and other communications with project team and customer to resolve issues and coordinate.
• Monitor progress for adherence to schedule and man-hour expenditures versus percent complete.
• Re-plan and adjust to maintain schedule; advise customer and negotiate changes in fee.
• Monitor scope changes affecting budget and schedule; advise customer and negotiate changes in fee.
• Keep customer informed of progress and any technical problems/solutions and their cost impact.
• Identify solutions to problems impacting progress or customer relations; involve management as needed.
• Coordinate with Estimating on costs and schedules; assemble estimates and subcontractor quotes.
• Review plans, specs, and reports with Estimating.
• Participate in contract negotiations and change in scope budgeting with client.
• Review initial estimate for budget upload and assist with Project Performance Agreement.
• Assist with project procurement including interviews, planning, scheduling.
• Manage and develop Project Assistants and Project Engineer(s).
• Review safety requirements and conduct site inspections.

Education

B.S. degree in Construction technology, Engineering or related discipline

About Your Opportunity

The primary responsibility for the Senior Project Manager is to secure and manage project cost, schedule and performance in conformance with company policy, standards and goals. The Senior Project Manager presents superior technical expertise to the customer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the project plan, sequence and schedule with collaboration of field personnel.
• Prepare and issues project documents including progress reports, project schedule updates, and financial/budget updates.
• Initiate periodic meetings and other forms of communication with project team members and customer, to acquaint them with unresolved problems and to provide an adequate degree of coordination.
• You will monitor project progress for adherence to schedule and man hour expenditures versus percent complete.
• Re-plan and make corrections/adjustments to maintain schedule; identifies cause, advises customer and negotiates changes in fee.

• You will participate in the contract negotiations and change in scope budgeting with the client and ensure that all procedures governing the review and approval of contracts are followed before signing.
• Review initial estimate in the preparation for initial budget upload in coordination with estimating and accounting department. You will also assist with the preparation of the Project Performance Agreement (PPA).
• You willhelp with the project procurement process including, interview preparation, staff planning, scheduling, and interview process.
• You willmanage and developthe Project Assistants and Project Engineer(s).
• Review safety requirements in pre-installation planning sessions and obtain acknowledgement by sub(s) to ensure they follow our guidelines. You will also conduct site safety inspections.

Physical Requirements

In a normal day, this position requires little to no standing or walking. In a normal day, the employee must be able to sit for 7+ hours. In a normal day, the employee must be able to drive 1-4 hours. Employee must be able to lift/carry up to 10 lbs. maximum; occasionally carry small objects. In this position, employee occasionally (0-33%) must be able to bend at waist, squat the knees, climb (including ladders), reach above shoulders, kneel, crawl, use feet (foot controls), and/or work at heights above 6 feet.
