About you and this role
GPC has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and completion of large-scale energy infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing the execution of projects in power generation, gas processing, or refining/chemical industries, with a proven track record of managing complex projects from inception to completion. This role requires exceptional leadership, coordination, and technical expertise to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution: Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and execution strategies.
- Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams comprising engineers, construction supervisors, contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain effective communication with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure project alignment and transparency.
- Contract Management: Oversee contract negotiations, manage risks, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations between GPC, vendor OEMs, and EPC contractors.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure financial objectives are achieved.
This role expects 20-30% travel.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field. PMP certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in power generation, gas processing, chemicals, refining, or similar industries. Direct supervisory experience of EPC wrapped projects and coordination between the Owner’s team and EPC contractor is strongly preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects. An eye for managing contract risk and interface between EPC contractors and OEM vendors.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels. Has demonstrated managing stakeholders, both internally and externally, effectively throughout their career.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering practical solutions.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in project management software and tools, such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar.
