The Senior Project Manager is a strategic leader responsible for the success of key customer relationships and the organization’s most complex, high-value construction projects. This role combines executive-level customer management, project oversight, business development, financial accountability, and team leadership.
The Senior Project Manager serves as a trusted advisor to strategic customers and provides leadership from opportunity development through project closeout. Working closely with Sales, Project Managers, Superintendents, and Operations, this position drives customer satisfaction, profitability, backlog growth, risk management, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with strategic customers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts and lead customer business reviews.
- Partner with Sales to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and support account growth.
- Provide oversight of complex projects to ensure performance against scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety.
- Review estimates, contracts, procurement strategies, and execution plans for risk and profitability.
- Monitor project financial performance, forecasting, cash flow, and resource planning.
- Identify and mitigate contractual, financial, operational, and scheduling risks.
- Lead high-value and technically complex projects requiring advanced coordination and problem-solving.
- Mentor and develop Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and other project personnel.
- Support process improvements, best practices, and overall branch performance.
- Assist with escalated customer concerns and project challenges through resolution.
- Ensure successful project closeout and warranty completion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive construction project management experience.
- Proven experience with large-scale commercial or industrial MEP projects.
- Strong strategic customer relationship and business development experience.
- Strong financial, estimating, contract management, and project delivery skills.
- Strong knowledge and PM experience (construction and/or retrofit) of one or more : HVAC/mechanical systems, controls, hydronics, piping, large chilled water or commercial refrigeration projects.
- Experience mentoring and developing project management teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP, and project management software.
- PMP certification preferred.
