Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale engineering and design projects from concept through completion. You will align scope, schedules, budgets, and client goals while guiding multidisciplinary teams and maintaining client relationships.

The role requires extensive experience in engineering project management, strategic oversight, and mentorship of staff, with a focus on safety, quality, and business growth in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• PE (Professional Engineer) or RA license required; PMP certification preferred.
• 12–20 years of progressive experience in engineering and design project management.

The Senior Project Manager (Sr. PM) is responsible for the leadership and strategic management of complex,high-value,andmultidisciplinaryengineeringanddesignprojects.Thisroleoverseesproject execution from concept through completion, ensuring delivery excellence, financial performance, and client satisfaction. The Sr. PM serves as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams, providing technical direction, business insight, and mentorship to project managers and staff.

TheSr.PMcombinesdeeptechnicalknowledgewithprovenprojectdeliveryexpertiseandtheabilityto manage diverse teams across multiple disciplines and geographies.

KeyResponsibilities:

StrategicProjectLeadership

• Leadtheplanning,execution,anddeliveryoflarge-scaleorstrategicallysignificantengineeringand design projects.
• Defineandmanageprojectscope,objectives,deliverables,schedules,andbudgetsinalignmentwith client goals and company strategy.
• Overseeallphasesofprojectdeliveryandintegratemultidisciplinaryteams(process,civil,structural, mechanical, electrical, environmental, etc.) to deliver coordinated, high-quality solutions.
• Ensurealignmentoftechnical,financial,andcontractualperformancewithorganizationalstandards and client expectations.

Client&StakeholderManagement

• Build and maintain long-term client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and strategic insight.
• Facilitatehigh-levelclientmeetings,presentations,andprogressreviews.
• Develop,monitor,andcontrolprojectbudgetsandprofitabilitytargets.
• Managesubconsultantagreementsandensurecompliancewithcontractualrequirements.
• Trackprojectfinancials,forecasts,andperformancemetrics;implementcorrectiveactionswhen necessary.

TechnicalOversight&QualityManagement

• Providesenior-leveltechnicaloversightandreviewofprojectdeliverablestoensurequality, consistency, and innovation.
• Supportandguidetechnicalleadsinthedevelopmentofengineeringsolutionsanddesign methodologies.
• EnsureprojectsadheretointernalQA/QCprocesses,regulatorystandards,andbestpractices.

Risk,Safety&Compliance

• Ensurecompliancewithallapplicablehealth,safety,security,andenvironmental(HSSE)standards.
• Monitorprojectadherencetolegal,regulatory,andethicalrequirements.
• Contributetosuccessionplanningandtalentdevelopmentwithinthedepartmentorbusinessunit.
• Serveasarolemodelforcompanyvalues,safetyculture,andclientserviceexcellence.

BusinessDevelopment&StrategicGrowth

• Drivebusinessdevelopmentbyidentifyingnewopportunitiesandexpandingexistingclient relationships.
• Leadproposalandpursuitefforts,includingtechnicalstrategy,pricing,andpresentationdevelopment.
• Collaboratewithleadershiptosupportmarketgrowth,clientstrategy,andoperationalexcellence initiatives.
• Representthefirmatindustryevents,conferences,andprofessionalassociations.

Education & Experience
