Job summary

F.H. Paschen, a Detroit-based leader with 115+ years in construction, seeks a seasoned Project Manager to lead private and public projects, manage teams, and drive value from estimate through completion.

• Experience with a general contractor managing projects or programs.
• Ability to manage project and personnel simultaneously.
• Knowledge of construction, design, cost reporting and cash flow management.
• Computer skills and knowledge of project management, scheduling; strong communication and organization.

Responsibilities

• Point of contact for management staff, architects, subcontractors, owners, engineers and more
• Participate in life cycle of project including estimating, value engineering, and scheduling.
• Supervise project teams on assigned contracts
• Collaborate with other Project Managers to find alternative solutions
• Collaborate with Superintendents
• Negotiate financial disputes and change orders with owners
• Document and negotiate changes affecting completion or cost with subcontractors and owners
• Develop field QA/QC plan with Superintendent
• Collaborate on project safety plan with Superintendents
• Manage MBE/WBE subcontracting requirements and EEO/Affirmative action contracts
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview:

This position is a managerial position responsible for managing projects and leading teams. Projects may vary between private and public owners.

• Supervisory responsibility for the project teams on the assigned contract(s)
• Collaborate with other Project Manager(s) to find alternative solutions.

• Document and negotiate changes that may affect project completion or contract costs with subcontractors and owners.
• Develop field quality assurance and quality control plan with Superintendent.

• B.S in Construction Management or Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of construction experience.
• Experience with a general contractor managing projects or programs is required.
• Ability to manage project and personnel simultaneously.
• Knowledge of construction, design, cost reporting and cash flow management.
• Computer skills, knowledge of Project Management, Scheduling, good communication and organizational skills are necessary.
