Role Description

The Senior Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham, AL, responsible for leading end-to-end project execution for heavy fabrication and precision machining projects. This role oversees project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, ensuring that shop drawings, fabrication, machining, inspection, and assembly activities align with customer specifications and internal quality standards. The Senior Project Manager coordinates expediting and logistics, manages vendor and customer communication, and monitors project milestones to ensure on-time delivery. Daily responsibilities include conducting progress reviews, resolving operational issues, managing risk, and preparing status reports for leadership and clients. The role also involves mentoring project team members, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Project management skills, including end-to-end Project Management experience in manufacturing or heavy fabrication environments.
• Expediting and Expeditor experience to oversee material flow, production schedules, and on-time delivery of project components.
• Inspection skills to coordinate and review quality checks, dimensional inspections, and compliance with technical specifications.
• Logistics Management capabilities to plan and manage shipping, transportation, and delivery of large or complex fabricated products.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills, with attention to detail and a focus on safety and quality.
• Experience in heavy steel fabrication, precision machining, or related industrial sectors is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
