Job description

Join us as a Senior Project Manager and take ownership of delivering customer projects that matter. The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for achieving the project’s objectives. S/he works closely with the Project Sales Lead, Project Sponsor, and Project Team to define the project objectives and create and execute a plan for achieving those objectives.

What will you do?
  • Responsible for the project site safety, using a site superintendent team.
    • Develop safety stagey for the project site.
    • Ensure all personnel and subcontractors are familiar and adhere to Schneider Electric safe work practices and alignment with customer safety requirements.
    • Review and manage the Site Management Team’s deployment of the site safety strategy.
    • Completion of job hazard analysis, project risk assessments and safety audits.
  • Responsible for Customer Satisfaction.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs.
    • Organize and facilitate customer project meetings including the execution of the customer feedback loop and scope coordination.
  • Responsible for meeting scope, schedule, resource, and budget commitments reflected in the Project Management Plan.
    • Obtains, organizes, and maintains all project and contract documents.
    • Creates and maintains the project schedule.
    • Prepares forecasting and schedule of values updates for billing procedures.
  • Lead the Project Management Team in developing and managing the Project Management Plan.
    • Schedule and conduct all project construction coordination meetings both internal and external.
    • Coordinate internal and external teams to execute the scope of work.
  • Implement and enforce change control over project scope, schedule, resources, and budget.
    • Responsible for the procurement of subcontracts and vendor procurement, which includes contract agreements, cost negotiation and change order review/approval.
    • Management of and responsibility for project change order log.
    • Manage and execute project billing and accounts receivables in line with the project financials.
  • Collaborate with functional managers and/or organization management to obtain adequate resources with appropriate skills to staff the project team.
    • Manages resources by planning, scheduling, and forecasting manpower and resource requirements.
    • Train, mentor, and evaluate internal project personnel.
  • Manage the timely resolution of issues, including the escalation of issues that are outside the project team’s scope of responsibility. Track risks and ensure execution of corrective action plans until project closure.
    • Management of the risk and issues log.
  • Monitor the project and report the project status to the management team on a regular basis.
    • Prepare and update project schedule and cost re-estimates on a routine basis.
    • Complete all project status reporting at a regular cadence.
  • Scope: Large sized projects with complex scope, or large project portfolio (multiple projects of complexity), large need for internal and external coordination, large project team.
  • Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
    • Build and maintain good relationships with inspectors, engineers, subcontractors and client representative connected with the project.
    • Contribute to oversight of all financial services associated with the project such as: Change order management, billings, forecasting, bonds, insurance, accounts. Payable and receivable process and project re-estimates. Lead project financial and scope reviews.
What are the key skills we are looking for?

  • Strong presentation skills. Experience presenting project related details to regulatory agencies and customer stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including thorough knowledge of MS Project, Word, and Excel required.
  • Proficient in Procore project management software.
  • Financial acumen and understanding required.
  • Passionate about customer service and team success required.
  • Leadership skills: team building, empower and delegate authority, ability to build rapport and consensus required.
  • Thorough understanding of contract procedures and tactics required.
  • Knowledge of contract law, codes, standards, and industry construction knowledge required. Construction Manager at Risk and Design Build familiarity is a plus.
  • Medium Voltage Electrical cable and switch replacement.
  • Duct bank installation.
  • Coordination of electrical shutdowns on sensitive facilities.
What qualifications will make you successful?
  • Greater than 10 years related construction management experience with an emphasis on medium voltage underground (Civil) installations.
  • Ability to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of contracting and construction in Mechanical and Electrical field.
  • An understanding of energy performance work in lower and higher education or a municipality project background is beneficial.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the primary duties of this job. While performing the primary functions of the job, the employee is regularly exposed a general office environment. During periods of project site visits, the employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions as well as mechanical equipment rooms, which could consist of confined spaces and loud noises. The job requires work to be primarily performed on project sites and thus will require greater than 75% travel to project sites. Normal work schedule is Mon‑Thurs/Fri depending on project requirements. Special project circumstances may require additional working hours on weekends; however, this is typically scheduled in advance. Travel will occur using an automobile or by airplane to destinations.

Compensation

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 – USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
