Job summary

PSR Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a large TxDOT heavy civil project in Austin, TX. You will lead day-to-day delivery, interfacing with the Project Executive and field leadership to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in heavy civil, with highway/bridge experience and a background in forecasting, cost control, and subcontractor management. TxDOT experience is highly desirable and a civil/CM engineering degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in heavy civil construction.
• Background in highway, bridge or major transportation projects.
• TxDOT experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of project costs, forecasting and scheduling.
• Experience leading project teams and coordinating with field staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate change orders, RFIs and contract administration.
• Collaborate with Superintendents and field teams.

• Lead and develop PMs and project engineers.
• Ensure safety and quality standards are followed.

Senior Project Manager – Heavy Civil Engineering TxDOT

Austin, TX

I'm working with an established heavy civil contractor in Austin who is looking to add a Senior Project Manager to their team for a major TxDOT project.

They are looking for someone who has been around large highway and infrastructure projects and is comfortable taking ownership of a project from both an operational and commercial standpoint.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of the project, working closely with the Project Executive and field leadership.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing project budgets, costs and forecasting
• Project scheduling and ensuring key milestones are hit
• Managing subcontractors and suppliers
• Change orders, RFIs and contract administration
• Working closely with Superintendents and field teams
• Coordinating labor, equipment and materials
• Managing relationships with TxDOT and other project stakeholders
• Monitoring project risk and resolving issues as they arise
• Leading and developing Project Managers and Project Engineers
• Ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained throughout the project

What They're Looking For

• 8+ years' experience in heavy civil construction
• Strong background in highway, bridge or major transportation projects
• TxDOT experience would be highly desirable
• Strong understanding of project costs, forecasting and scheduling
• Experience managing subcontractors and project teams
• Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar degree preferred
• P6 experience would be beneficial
