Job summary

Mott MacDonald seeks an experienced finance leader to support and guide project accounting and financial performance in North America. You'll interpret metrics, lead KPIs, and collaborate with unit teams to drive profitability and ROI across multiple projects.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and the ability to travel. Hybrid office presence is expected, with emphasis on financial analytics and process improvement.

Qualifications

• BS or BA Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
• CPA, CGA, CMA, FCCA license or equivalent desired.
• 12-15 or more years of corporate accounting experience, specifically with project accounting.
• Experience within the industry preferred.
• Management experience, supervising and coordination of responsibilities.
• Effective communicator with good presentation skills and leadership qualities.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel Advanced).
• Proficiency with business analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of a finance project or program using appropriate methodologies.
• Provide strong project finance/accounting support for budgets, funding, margins, and resourcing.
• Assist in proposals to ensure ROI metrics are achieved.
• Conduct risk contingency analysis and monitoring.
• Review contract financial sections and change orders.
• Review subconsultants' financial data and invoices; track budgets.
• Coordinate billing and improve cash flow.
• Analyze working capital and ensure WIP billed and debts collected.
• Coordinate client financial compliance and timely payments.
• Track budget vs plan and analyze non-billables.
• Revenue recognition, earned value trending, forecasting.
• Support monthly progress reviews from a financial perspective.
• Prepare financial reporting on project revenue and working capital.
• CRM data mining and leadership reporting.
• Support project close-out in Connect Business.
• Collaborate with Unit leadership to drive KPIs.
• Participate in commercial review meetings to evaluate financial performance.
• Explore automation and digital tools for efficiency.
• Implement BI dashboards and Power Platform tools for automation.
• Maintain effective communication, detail orientation, time management, problem solving.
• Be a team player; flexible and willing to travel.
