Job summary

MCN Build in Washington, DC, seeks a Senior Project Engineer to support coordination and execution of complex construction projects. You will manage RFIs, submittals, and document control, while collaborating with the PMs, subcontractors, and field teams to keep projects on schedule.

The role requires 2–4 years of construction experience, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, and proficiency in Procore, PlanGrid, or Sage 300.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of construction experience.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, coordination, and project processes.
• Proficiency in Procore, PlanGrid, Sage 300 or similar tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage core project functions such as RFIs, submittals, and document control with limited oversight.
• Coordinate directly with subcontractors and field teams to keep projects on track.
• Take ownership of specific scopes or phases of work and support cost tracking and change order documentation.
• Help ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and contribute to process improvements.

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a motivated Senior Project Engineer with solid construction experience who is ready to take on increased responsibility in project coordination and execution. The right candidate works more independently, supports both the Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager, and begins taking ownership of key project processes while helping guide junior team members.

What You’ll Do:

Our new Senior Project Engineer will manage core project functions such as RFIs, submittals, and document control with limited oversight, while coordinating directly with subcontractors and field teams to keep projects on track. This role takes ownership of specific scopes or phases of work, supports cost tracking and change order documentation, and helps ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date. Senior Project Engineers also assist in resolving project issues, contributing to process improvements, and provide guidance to Project Engineers.

What You Bring to The Table:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of construction experience.

• Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 commensurate with experience, and an annual discretionary bonus
