Job summary

Barrick is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the Fourmile Team in Nevada. The role will oversee engineering, field execution and project management activities within a dynamic mining environment.

The position requires significant field time, leadership of field engineering, and the ability to manage projects from concept through closeout while coordinating with construction and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years practical experience in underground industry, preferably in a mining environment.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience preferably in an underground environment.
• Direct experience working in an Underground environment.

Responsibilities

• Spend significant time in the field for planning, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
• Lead field engineering activities, verify design alignment with real-world conditions, support construction teams, and proactively address issues before they impact scope, schedule, or cost.
• Develop project execution plan and build owner’s team with necessary resources.
• Drive projects from concept through closeout.
• Oversee project execution, both in the field and in the office, ensuring strong visibility, alignment, and communication with construction teams, contractors, and operational stakeholders.
• Supervise, mentor and train project engineers, define clear objectives and expectations of direct reports, evaluate performance, provide verbal and written feedback on career growth, and encourage innovative thinking and process improvement.
