Job summary

ABB is a leading energy technology company focused on turbine automation projects in the Pittsburgh area. This remote role reports to the Manager, Operations and demands both design authority and field collaboration to ensure compliant, high-quality outcomes.

You will shape solutions with customers, develop work plans and cost estimates, coordinate with cross-functional teams for manufacturing and commissioning, and mentor colleagues on translating concepts into engineering docs and practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with Turbine Control Automation in the Power Industry.
• 8–12 years of experience in Turbine Automation with DCS or PLC design and programming.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver turbine control solutions with customer feedback to drive improvements.

This position reports to:

Manager, Operations

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.

The work model for the role is: Remote {} (Must be in Greater Pittsburgh, PA)

This role is contributing to the Turbine Automation Business in Pittsburgh, PA.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Working with the customer to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.
• Creating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects and ensuring quality, timely implementation within the targeted cost.
• Coordinating with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured / staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.
• Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects.

Qualifications For The Role

• You are skilled in working with Turbine Control Automation within the Power Industry
• Ability to demonstrate your experience with DCS or PLC design and programming, with 8-12 years of experience in Turbine Automation.
• You are innovative around problem solving and methods of process control.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• You are at ease communicating in English

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $91,700 and $146,720 annually.
