HNTB is seeking a Senior Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA to manage engineering projects and mentor junior staff. This role involves leading project teams, ensuring technical accuracy, and adhering to budgets and schedules.
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with significant project management experience. A Master’s degree or a PhD is preferred, along with excellent technical and mentoring skills.

This opportunity entails being responsible for the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects. The role consults with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design and delivery. It applies engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for complex and cross‑discipline projects and leverages technical knowledge to address design‑related issues or concerns. Working closely with the project manager, it involves creative problem solving, client interactions and task completion to meet the project schedule. The engineer develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project completion using current drawing and technical tools, programs and software. The role may also mentor, train and review the work of junior engineer staff, providing constructive feedback, and contributes to the successful delivery of diverse projects for HNTB’s clients.
