Job summary

The City of Oregon City is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead complex transportation and public works projects from design through construction in collaboration with the Engineering Group. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, prepare feasibility studies, manage contracts, and coordinate with state and federal agencies to ensure compliance and timely delivery.

A bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering and five years of experience are required, with PE certification expected

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
• Active registration as a Professional Engineer expected within six months.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and participate with engineers and staff in developing, implementing and evaluating engineering plans and processes.
• Lead design and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects and public works upgrades.
• Prepare feasibility studies and cost estimates; develop project schedules and review progress.
• Coordinate permits, contracts, scope of work, and inter-local agreements with other municipalities and agencies.
• Review plans to ensure compliance with city standards and codes; provide technical guidance.
• Present findings and proposals to Planning and City Commissions and engage stakeholders.
