As a Project Engineer, you'll lead a cross-functional team to collect and analyze data to devise obsolescence solutions. Priorities are ever changing so the ability to juggle tasks and bring a quick-results mindset is vital.

What You Will Do

  • Help to lead a cross functional Obsolescence Management Team (OMT) by coordinating, managing, and reporting on all aspects of obsolescence, including schedules and budget.

  • Analyze data gathered and guide program personnel in developing obsolescence mitigation plans that align with the product/program strategy.

  • Interface with other functional areas, including Program Management, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain and Operations, to drive focus on timely closure of actions.

  • Exercise exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage the details of digging into, tracking, and communicating the technical and business aspects of various issues, as well as being able to communicate the process at a higher level to internal and sometimes external customers.

  • Task schedule and budget management

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives; Example: Update processes and standard work based on the use of newer tools, and organization changes.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

  • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience managing multiple small tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • 5 years’ experience working with electronic components, d esign and/or p roject e ngineering and knowledge of MS Project, MS Access , Team Center, and SAP

  • Experience working with suppliers, internal and external customers, etc.

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams (including Engineering Program Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, and Operations), particularly in risk analysis and mitigation planning aligned with product or program strategy.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage and communicate complex issues clearly at various organizational levels.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
