Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a qualified engineer to lead design calculations and technical reports for major infrastructure projects in Houston. The role involves consulting with the project manager, performing research and development, and delivering designs on schedule.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s in Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience (or advanced degrees with fewer years) and may mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus 6 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering plus 5 years of relevant experience.
• PhD in Engineering plus 4 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
• Experience with TxDOT Project Delivery (Schematics, PS&E, PMC/GEC Programs) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and distribute discipline-specific work, ensuring schedule and budget adherence.
• Assist in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Assist with scope of work development and level of effort for projects.
• Oversee completeness and accuracy of the project team’s work within the discipline.
• Guide and mentor team to achieve project objectives.
• Coordinate technical aspects with clients and teaming partners.
• Work with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
