Job summary

Techtronic Industries Power Equipment in Anderson, SC seeks a Sr. Project Engineer 1 to lead technical contributions on assigned product development programs and to support mature products.

The role emphasizes translating consumer insights into robust, cost effective designs and ensuring the products meet reliability and safety standards through disciplined engineering. You will drive evolution of product function, supervise design teams, and create complete engineering data packages.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (mechanical preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5-8 years in a similar field.
• Expertise with design software SolidWorks and/or NX.
• Ability to communicate across all functional areas and internationally.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical contributions on assigned new product development programs and support mature products.
• Drive evolution of product function to meet cost, timing, and reliability goals.
• Lead design of product architecture for high-volume manufacturing.
• Provide direction to design team and develop layout and technical data packages.
• Analyze design options, prove suitability, and implement in mass production.
• Accountable for all technical elements including material selection, packaging and safety, regulatory compliance.
• Write general and detailed specifications and manage BOMs.
• Develop prototype plans and test programs to prove concepts and spec compliance.
• Conduct design and safety reviews to gain approvals for progression.
• Drive quality compliance using DFMEA, DOE, SPC, DFA, and other tools, and mentor younger engineers.
