We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer (SPE) who is eager to learn and grow within our company.

What you’ll do: The SPE’s primary focus is project coordination. The ideal candidate will proactively address project challenges, partner with internal leadership and external stakeholders, and train and lead Project Engineers (PE). Candidates promoted to this role are expected to have successfully mastered and performed as a PE.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Manage specific aspects of a project independently, as assigned by the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
  2. Coordinate on-site with the superintendent and assist in managing trades and work in progress.
  3. Facilitate trade coordination on-site.
  4. Develop basic project and breakout schedules.
  5. Train and oversee PEs on key tasks such as meeting minutes, RFI review, and workflow processes.
  6. Evaluate and manage RFI and submittal distributions.
  7. Assist in assembling prime contract exhibits.
  8. Identify cost and schedule impacts through material tracking logs.
  9. Support PM in subcontract creation and administration.
  10. Manage COI requirements and maintain/update COIs throughout the project.
  11. Enforce safety and cleanliness standards on the jobsite.
  12. Review and approve subcontractor invoices under PM oversight.
  13. Generate estimates for change orders and small service projects.
  14. Review and compile costs related to owner change orders for PM review.
  15. Build relationships with construction managers, architects, and building management teams.
  16. Serve as the primary contact for clients, owners, architects, and project teams on service jobs.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  2. Understanding of project management and sequencing.
  3. Familiarity with field trades duties and responsibilities.
  4. Negotiation skills with subcontractors.
  5. Effective time management.
  6. Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  7. Ability to foster positive relationships with clients, owners, managers, and team members.
  8. Knowledge of contracts and basic financial principles including job costing, revenue, and budgets.
  9. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Procore.
  10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
