Job summary

Spire is seeking a Project Engineer III in Kansas City, MO for complex gas pipeline and supply projects. You will plan, design, budget, permit, schedule, and manage multi-project portfolios, coordinating with contractors and internal teams to ensure safety, compliance, and efficient delivery.

The role requires strong PM and engineering skills, familiarity with regulatory codes, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid work setup with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited school required.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI certifications preferred (PMI-PBA, PMI-ACP, Lean Six Sigma, etc.).
• Professional Engineering License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage gas pipeline and/or gas supply projects including planning, budgeting, permitting, scheduling, constructing, and overall project management.
• Oversee contractors, safety, environmental, ROW, compliance and long-range planning for projects.
• Develop project cost estimates through design, simulation, PFDs, equipment specs and initial sizing; create P&ID development and labor planning.
• Manage capital and maintenance projects including financial planning, scheduling, equipment specification and procurement, contractor interfacing, and project documentation.
• Support commissioning of new metering and regulation facilities as required.
• Provide engineering support during construction activities and for ROW, environmental, and regulatory processes.
