Base pay range

$120,000.00/yr - $155,000.00/yr

Job Summary: Under the leadership of the Principal Engineer, the Project Engineer III will work with a team of engineers to design and develop site grading and drainage plans, stormwater detention design and modeling, subdivision design, water and sewer system utility design, generation of flood study models and reports, and roadway improvements as well as provide project coordination and construction administration support.

Essential Skills & Abilities:
  • Lead the planning, design, and permitting of various site design and roadway projects.
  • Manage a team of engineers ensuring work is evenly distributed and deadlines are met.
  • Work independently on design and production of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project team, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies, including but not limited to, attending meetings, and providing ongoing written and verbal communication.
  • Direct and review production of drawings by CAD technicians and design engineers.
  • Act as liaison with client, contractors, or others directly on a variety of projects, assisting with required coordination and problem solving between all parties.
  • Adaptive and ambitious personality which will work well in team situations as well as have the ability to work and adapt to situations as an individual to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Illinois P.E./EIT License.
  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Experience managing a team a plus.
  • Experience interacting with Municipal clients and function as a liaison between Municipality and internal staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Independent problem-solver and decision maker.
