Job summary

SEPTA is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (E&C) for the Trolley Modernization Program within the Program Delivery Office in Philadelphia. The role involves handling significant engineering work, QA activities, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure project success.

The incumbent will oversee design review, inspection plans, budgeting, and coordination with agencies, while interfacing with executives and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree and seven years of proven relevant engineering experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Understanding of construction project management techniques.
• Willingness to work evenings and nights as required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CAD proficiency preferred; familiarity with various engineering software preferred.
• Master’s degree or PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with managerial level in project/program definition.
• Apply advanced engineering and quality assurance principles with good judgment.
• Assist in budget preparation for proposed projects/programs and third-party work.
• Demonstrate strong technical writing skills.
• Provide specialized technical expertise for project/program activities.
• Assist the manager in duties and project management tasks.
• Adhere to safety policies and report hazards affecting operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Manage Utility Coordination for design/construction within the Trolley Modernization Program.
