Join our team as a Senior Project Engineer/Design Manager at GHD and contribute to groundbreaking transportation projects in California.

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Senior Project Engineer / Design Manager - Highways & Roads to support our Highways and Roads practice across the California and US West regions. This role involves managing transportation projects including highways, interchanges, local roads, bridges, and active transportation initiatives. The position is remote from the Coachella Valley/Inland Empire area, with networked support from our California offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing technical guidance and oversight on transportation engineering projects.
• Leading the design and production of engineering plans and specifications.
• Managing project scope, schedule, and budgets in collaboration with project managers.
• Leading and mentoring project teams and subconsultants.
• Engaging with community, professional organizations, and clients to foster relationships and stay current with industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Registered Civil Engineer in California.
• 8+ years of experience in transportation and municipal engineering, including planning, design, and construction.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and PS&E package development.
• Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Knowledge of Caltrans and AASHTO standards and experience with funded transportation projects.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $138,000 - $207,000 based on experience and location.
