Job summary

NiSource seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead large-scale power infrastructure projects enabling critical data center operations. You will drive engineering execution from concept to construction, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, cost, and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ABET-accredited engineering or engineering technology.
• 7–9 years of experience in electric utility engineering or operations.
• 1–3 years of experience leading teams, contractors, or projects.
• Strong knowledge of utility infrastructure, engineering design, and construction practices.
• Experience with project budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Familiarity with industry codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and AutoCAD (or equivalent).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DOT drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, including conceptual design, engineering planning, detailed design, and construction handoff.
• Manage external engineering firms to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Drive the development and review of engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and design packages.
• Monitor engineering performance, risks, and progress using project management tools and systems.
