Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Project Engineer at F.E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne, WY.

Must be a US citizen and able to pass a federal background check and drug screen. You will act as a technical advisor for structural systems on federal construction projects, review plans for constructability, and assist with contract modifications and government estimates. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, with structural emphasis.
• Licensed Professional Engineer; Wyoming license preferred.
• 10+ years as a structural engineer on large federal projects (USACE/DoD).
• Experience with RF shielding and ICD 705 construction is a plus.
• Proven ability to review plans, manage design reviews and constructability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical expert for control of structural systems on federal projects.
• Provide advisory, consulting and review on structural issues and non-compliance.
• Review design documents for constructability and contract clarity.
• Assist in scopes of work for RFPs, government estimates, and PS/contract mods.
• Support inspections, QA, and contract administration with technical input.
• Prepare correspondence on contractor performance, RFIs, REAs, and submittals.
• Coordinate RFIs and submittals with designers and project team; document progress.
• Track progress, schedules, safety programs, and quality control measures.

REQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Serves as technical expert and advisor for control of structural systems and related features for federal construction projects.
• Performs advisory, consulting and review duties involving structural systems problems or non-compliance
• Review contract documents, including plans and specifications, during design for constructability, non-compliance, issue identification and contract clarity.
• Participates in all phases of the contract modification process. Assists in preparation of scopes of work for RFP's, assists in preparation of government estimates, assists with review of contractor's proposals, and prepares contract modification documentation.
• Will assist with project inspections, quality assurance, contract administration and providing technical expertise.
• Documents reviews and analyzes contractor plans and technical submittals for approvalaction, including progress schedules, environmental, safety and quality control programs, certifications and shop drawings. Provides comments.
• Prepares correspondence regarding Contractor performance, Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and other technical issues
• Prepares both partial and final payment estimates including the measurement and computation of pay item quantities, verification of materials on hand, and percentage complete of lump sum items.
• Review and provide technical assistance with HEMP Shielding, Radio Frequency (RF) Shield and ICD 705 construction requirements. Document review and interface with Designer of Record for technical changes or questions.
• Monitors and documents scheduled progress of all construction activities and phases of construction and advises the Resident Engineer, COR, and project team of potential slippage or delay.
• Participates and executes RFI and Submittal reviews, including coordination with the designers, RE, and technical experts and executes responses to the contractor.
• Logs and maintains data as necessary to assist with project management and decision making.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Structural Engineering
• CurrentProfessional Engineer license within the State of Wyoming
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience as structural engineer on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects, preferably USACE and/or Department of Defense
• Experience withRadio Frequency (RF) Shield and ICD 705 construction requirements.
• Knowledge of and experience with High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP)design and construction requirements preferred.
