Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is seeking a Project Engineer II in Lone Tree, CO to manage the full lifecycle of complex aerospace projects. You will collaborate with internal teams and external customers to deliver on schedule, budget, and technical requirements, including risk mitigation and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires a strong engineering background, leadership experience, and the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years' engineering experience with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Higher level degree may substitute for experience.
• 4-6 years leadership and/or project management experience.
• Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and practice.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Detailed understanding of requirements management, system design, and integration.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to project teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Act as a primary point of contact for external customers on technical matters.
• Prepare comprehensive status reports, including progress updates, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
• Identify project issues, develop resolution plans, and implement contingency strategies.
• Proactively seek opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in project management.
• Develop and manage risk identification, documentation, and mitigation planning.
