Job summary

TheCorporate in Wallingford, CT seeks an experienced Senior Project Engineer to manage complex aerospace manufacturing projects from requirements to delivery. You will serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, purchasing, and operations.

The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years in aerospace or complex manufacturing, strong PM skills, and knowledge of AS9100, FAA, ITAR.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field.
  • 5–10+ years of project or program management experience in aerospace or complex manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, FAA, ITAR and aerospace customer requirements preferred.
  • Experience with NPI, tooling, process development, or engineering changes is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple aerospace projects from kickoff through completion.
  • Develop schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities across engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, supply chain and operations.
  • Serve as primary customer contact for status, requirements and issues.
  • Monitor progress, costs, quality and delivery performance.
  • Identify risks and develop corrective/mitigation plans.
  • Lead NPI activities, tooling, process development and engineering changes.
  • Lead meetings and communicate status to management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA, ITAR and customer requirements.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to manage complex aerospace manufacturing projects from initial customer requirements through final delivery.

This role will serve as a key liaison between customers and internal Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Operations teams. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills combined with a solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing and cross-functional operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple aerospace manufacturing projects from project kickoff through completion and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Operations.
  • Serve as a primary customer contact for project status, schedules, requirements, and issues.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Identify project risks and develop corrective and mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, tooling, process development, engineering changes, and customer requirements.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate project status to management and stakeholders.
  • Resolve issues that may impact schedule, cost, quality, or customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable aerospace and customer requirements, including AS9100, FAA, ITAR, and customer-specific requirements, as applicable.
  • Support continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
  • Maintain clear and accurate project documentation and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field.
  • 5–10+ years of project or program management experience, preferably within aerospace or complex manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and cross-functional operations.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and project management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional internal teams.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, FAA, ITAR, and aerospace customer requirements is highly preferred.
  • Experience with NPI, tooling, process development, or engineering change management is a plus.

Compensation

$120,000–$140,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
