Job summary

Arevon, a U.S. energy leader headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, seeks a Senior Project Engineer to provide technical oversight for PV and BESS projects.

You will develop scope of work documents, review design drawings, and coordinate with civil, structural, and electrical teams and Owners & Independent Engineers to ensure a complete design package. The role requires in-depth analysis of applicable codes (NESC, NEC, IEEE) and experience with AutoCAD, ETAP, PVsyst, CYMCAP, and WinIGS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • 8+ years hands-on experience in solar, BESS, or related industry.
  • Electrical testing and field commissioning experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and process orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineer reviewing PV, BESS, and HV designs for utility-scale projects.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, and electrical teams and Owners/Independent Engineer.
  • Review civil, structural, and electrical scope for RFP submittals.
  • Respond to technical RFIs throughout project lifecycle.
  • Manage EPC during design phase: array orientation, tilt, spacing, height, and performance calculations.
  • Provide engineering budgets and communicate with sales/management.

The Position

TheSenior Project Engineerwill beresponsible for providing technical oversite for PV and BESS projects. The responsibilities include developing scope of work documents, reviewing design drawings, commissioning requirements, responding to technical RFI, and communicating with counterparties and internal stakeholders. The role requires detailed analysis and interpretation of civil, structural, and electrical Prudent Industry Practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineer reviewing the PV, BESS, and HV designs of utility scale projects. This includes close coordination with civil, structural, and electrical Owners & Independent Engineer to ensure a comprehensive design package for Arevon.
  • Lead review of civil, structural, and electrical scope for use Request for Proposal (RFP) package submittals.
  • Review and respond to technical RFI responses throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage the EPC during the design phase of large-scale solar arrays including array orientation, tilt, spacing, height, collector system design and performance calculations.
  • Perform due diligence on project documentation, then catalog and communicate fatal flaws to management based on site development studies.
  • Accurately performs and/or manages the review of electrical, civil, and structural design and supporting calculations and studies in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Provide accurate and timely engineering budget estimates for time and costs to sales or management based on available project information, knowledge, and preliminary calculations.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, such as NESC, ASCE, ASME, ASTM, NEC, ANSI, IEEE.
  • Familiarity with NERC and CIP standards.
  • Able and willing to travel to construction sites.
  • Collaborate with engineering, estimating and construction staff to document and develop company best practices and design standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, requiredin Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil disciplines.
  • 8+ years of hands‑on experience as an engineer working with solar, BESS, or another related industry required.
  • Electrical testing and field commissioning experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills,highly motivated and results oriented,process oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering and renewable energy systems; solar PV systems including SCADA and monitoring systems, and BESS.
  • Knowledge of site production & design calculations, plan preparation; site collector system calculations & report writing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD design, ETAP or similar, CYMCAP or similar, PVsyst or similar, WinIGS or similar.
  • Knowledgeable in physical substation design methods and their application.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, MS Windows, and project controls.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering Registration (PE)
