We are hiring for a Senior Project Engineer to work out of our San Jose office!

BKF Engineers is seeking a seasoned civil engineer with a strong foundation in land development and a passion for delivering high-quality, technically sound projects. This senior-level role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys taking ownership of their work, from concept through completion. You'll play a key role in shaping project direction, offering strategic input, and guiding engineering teams through complex challenges with confidence and clarity.

We're looking for someone who brings not only technical expertise in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, but also the ability to mentor junior staff, contribute to quality control efforts, and keep both internal teams and clients informed throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities:

• Project Design for Site Development
• Grading and Drainage Plans
• Utility Systems for Water and Sewer
• Report Preparation and Master Planning Studies, preparation of specifications and cost estimates
• Project Management Assistance: Budgeting, Schedules, Client Care, Invoicing
• Design Team collaboration, and support
• Roadway/Streets final design package - Plan, Profile, Cross Sections
• Roadway Design: Streetscape, Green Streets, Bicycle Path Plans
• Knowledge of Federal, State, City and County Standards
• Report Preparation and Conceptual Studies
• preparation of Specifications and Quantity Takeoffs/Cost Estimates
  
  
  

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in site development, design of residential and/or commercial subdivisions, utility systems, roadways, and public works
• B.S in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET Accredited Curriculum or equivalent required
• Professional Engineering license in the State of Oregon or California is highly preferred
• AutoCAD and Civil 3D mastery required
  
  
  

Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required.

• The typical base salary range for this position is 103,000 - $140,000 annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is a salary position paid biweekly
