Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to drive execution on large-scale vertical construction across the Southeast. You will partner with Project Managers and Superintendents, manage RFI/doc control, and support scheduling, cost tracking, and procurement.

This traveling role requires 4–8+ years in commercial construction, a degree preferred, and willingness to travel. Expect a fast-paced environment with a strong team and opportunities to advance to PM tracks.

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years of experience in commercial construction.
• Experience on student housing, multifamily, or mid/high-rise projects preferred.
• Proficient in project documentation & coordination across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead RFI, submittal, and document control processes with minimal oversight
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to maintain schedule and quality
• Assist in project scheduling, phasing plans, and look-ahead planning
• Track and manage project costs, change orders, and budget impacts
• Support buyout and procurement efforts for key trades
• Drive QA/QC processes and ensure work aligns with plans/specs
• Maintain strong communication between field operations and office teams
• Assist in project closeout, punch lists, and turnover documentation

Salary: $90,000 - $115,000 per year

Job Details

The Senior Project Engineer plays a key role in driving project execution from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with Project Managers and Superintendents on large-scale, vertical construction projects. This is a traveling role across the Southeast U.S., supporting active job sites where needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead RFI, submittal, and document control processes with minimal oversight
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to maintain schedule and quality
• Assist in project scheduling, phasing plans, and look-ahead planning

What We’re Looking For

• 4–8+ years of experience in commercial construction
• Experience on student housing, multifamily, or mid/high-rise projects strongly preferred
• Proven ability to manage project documentation and coordination independently
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and logistics
• Proficient with tools like Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar
• Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast (project-based assignments)
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
