Job summary

Performance Contracting is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for the Raleigh-531 operations based in Raleigh, NC. You will oversee construction activities, coordinate with field supervision, manage schedules, and ensure QA/QC compliance to deliver projects safely and on time.

Ideal candidates bring 4–7 years of project-management experience, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office. A Bachelor's in Construction Management or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have 4-7 years’ experience managing construction projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take initiative.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
• Willing to travel or relocate based on project needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance.
• Prepare RFIs and submittals.
• Quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders.
• Create and manage job schedules and coordinate with field supervisors and foremen.
• Create and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation.
• Support the QA/QC measures outlined in the program.
• Assist in other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Performance Contracting is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer for its Raleigh-531 operations based in Raleigh, NC.

Job responsibilities include:

• Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance
• Prepare RFI’s and submittals
• Quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders
• Create and implement job schedules and coordinate with field supervisors and foremen
• Create and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation
• Support the Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program
• Assist in other duties as assigned

This position is safety-sensitive.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Basic Requirements

• Must have at least 4-7 years’ experience managing construction projects
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
• Possess a clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to learn new skills by engaging in the technical job functions and applying new skills as they’re learned
• Strong customer service skills and relationship-building abilities
• Ability to prioritize and multitask while handling multiple projects concurrently
• Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline
• Experience with metal stud framing and drywall, acoustical ceilings, exterior systems and cladding preferred.
• Experience managing specialty scopes of construction
• OSHA certification
• Local to Raleigh, NC
• Willing to travel or relocate based on project needs
