Job summary

MIRATECH is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Prior Lake to lead high-impact development and customer projects. You will drive solutions from concept to implementation, guide design, and support sales with technical insight.

Mentoring junior engineers and improving processes are key parts of the role. You will collaborate across engineering, sales, production, and project management to ensure quality, manufacturability, and timely delivery of projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering required.
• 10+ years in a related engineering field or at MIRATECH.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical clients.
• Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently to deliver high-quality results within short timeframes.
• Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) or technical documentation software.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-level development projects as the primary technical authority through sales and execution.
• Respond to advanced customer inquiries on specifications, features, and integration capabilities.
• Educate sales staff and customers on technical solutions.
• Ensure proposed solutions are appropriately sized and meet quality standards.
• Assist in proposals, quotes, and technical documentation for clients.
• Participate in sales meetings and customer negotiations with senior technical input.
• Support Operations and Project Management to resolve technical challenges during execution.
• Estimate project costs and advise on product design for manufacturability and delivery.
• Provide installation support and field-level troubleshooting for new and custom products.
• Develop tools, documentation, and standards to transition mature products to Catalyzer or other teams.
• Mentor junior Project Engineers.

Primary Responsibility: We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Project Engineer to take the lead on complex, high-impact development and customer projects. This role operates at the intersection of sales, engineering, and operations, serving as a senior technical resource who guides solution design, supports strategic sales efforts, and ensures successful project execution. The Senior Project Engineer is capable of independently driving projects from concept through implementation, evaluating product functionality to fit customer needs, and troubleshooting challenging engineering problems. This position plays a key role in mentoring junior engineers, improving processes, and supporting the long-term scalability of MIRATECH's product portfolio.

What You'll Do:

• Take the lead on high-level development projects, serving as the primary technical authority throughout the sales and execution lifecycle
• Respond to advanced customer inquiries regarding product specifications, features, and integration capabilities
• Communicate with and educate our sales staff and customers on our technical solutions
• Ensure proposed solutions are correctly sized and constructed to meet quality standards
• Support the creation of proposals, quotes, and technical documentation for potential clients.
• Participate in sales meetings and customer negotiations, providing senior-level technical insight and risk assessment
• Support Operations and Project Management teams during execution, resolving technical challenges as they arise
• Estimate project costs and consult on product design with Sales and Production teams to optimize manufacturability and delivery
• Perform installation support and advanced troubleshooting for new and custom products in the field as needed
• Develop tools, documentation, and standards to transition mature products to Catalyzer or other internal teams
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior Project Engineers

What Qualifies You:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years in a related engineering field or engineering employment at MIRATECH
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical clients
• Exceptional experience with time management, organization skills, meeting project deadlines, problem solving, and creative solutions
• Strong technical judgment and the ability to troubleshoot challenging engineering problems.
• Ability to work independently to produce high-caliber deliverables in a short time frame
• Experience working with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) or technical documentation software
• Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Proficient with SolidWorks CAD or equivalent
